I CAN LOAD THE Q2-FX   AN THE ET SOUND SOUND

YOU PICK THE SOUND

Q2-FX files are the files which were in use when the Titan decoder series premiered. They are updated versions of our popular Q2 files which were used previously on the Quantum Revolution™ decoder series. They are built for quantity of sound files. The sound files are not as realistic as the Titan ET files, but they are still enjoyable sound files and are still available in case some users prefer them.

Emulator Technology™ (ET™) is another in a long line of industry firsts from QSI. Now you can control your model and have the sound respond exactly like it would on a real locomotive: in real time. Through diligent research and first rate software design your model will respond to your commands like the real thing, essentially because it thinks it is the real thing.

Please Note, the Titan ET files are not compatible with the onboard libraries found in the Q2-FX Titan files. Instead users will use the Cut & Paste section of Q2 Upgrade to select their prefered sounds prior to loading the soundfile to their decoder.

Q2 Upgrade replaced with Quantum Upgrade!

                                                                                                                   8/12/15

As QSI and QSI Solutions move away from the dated Q2 Software a few customers have expressed confusion over using the Q2 Upgrade software to load Q3 files. As such, we have changed the name of the software to Quantum Upgrade. This retains functionality that Q2 Upgrade had but is a little less confusing. Click here to download the newest version!

New Q3, Titan-ET, Diesel software released!       7/30/15

QSI Solutions is pleased to announce the release of Q3, Titan Emulator Technology Diesel software version 9-3-2.

This new software package represents almost 2 years of development on the part of QSI and QSI Solutions, and was born directly from user requests for more selectable sounds on board each sound file.

New features included in this release are:

Sound Files:

We have finally released the EMD 710 (GP60's-SD90's) as well as a new EMD 567 specifically for Cab Units (F-Units, CF7's, BL-2's, E-Units).

Hornmaster™:

Hornmaster puts 113 CV-selectable horns onboard each diesel file, and represents a new way of modeling air horns in sound equipped locomotives. Rather than recording horns as whole clusters (2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, chimes played all at the same time) we disassembled these horns and sound-processed each chime independently. This allows you to quickly and easily select any combination of chimes used in North American railroading. Additionally, using Quantum CV Manager and the "User Defined Horn" selection tab, you can modify these existing presets, or can build one of your own, up to 6 chimes. While using the "User Defined Horn" option you can modify the note each chime plays, the tuning of that note (how musically sharp or flat it is), the volume of each chime, and the stereo balance of each chime. This last feature allows you (in stereo locomotives that use more than one speaker) to select the “sound position” of each trumpet in the cluster, based on whether or not it faces to the front or the rear of the locomotive. To see the list of Horns stored available in Hornmaster click here

Additionally, any horn selected from the Hornmaster list (including the User Defined Horn) features user controllable reverb with adjustments for both Reverb Amount and Reverb Distance.

Each file also contains 2 of our traditional "Prototype" horn selections which can be changed using Cut & Paste in the Q2 Upgrade software. These are horns recorded live, in the field, with all chimes played at once. Due to this, Prototype horns have fixed reverb based on their recording environment and Hornmaster Reverb controls do not function.

Bellmaster™:

Bellmaster adds 27 CV-selectable bells onboard each diesel file. Additionally, there is a "User Defined Bell" selection which gives you controls over Metallurgy; which moves the bell sound from all steel to all bronze with all possible combinations in between. The User Defined Bell also has controls for overall pitch, and ring rate. We have also added support to turn the bell on any time the horn is blown (a very common feature on modern locomotives) and have added a hold time setting to control how long it rings after the horn is turned off.

Head End Power:

Head End Power [HEP] is used in diesel locomotives to generate electricity for passenger cars while still supplying power to the traction motors.

HEP is assignable to a function key, which, when pressed will command the Prime Mover RPM to climb directly to Notch 8; the loco will continue to run in N8 as the throttle is increased. When the loco starts/stops moving or goes through speed changes you will hear the pronounced sound of the exhaust laboring, as the traction motor loads change.

New Light Options:

  • We've added support for multi color Marker Lights, now you can use bi or tri polar LEDs and cycle through marker light colors or setup directional rules for different colors.

  • We've also added "Cooling Fan" and "Dynamic Brake" light ports, these are designed to be connected to the small motors which are hooked to the fans in some models. When either the Cooling Fan Sound or Dynamic Brake Sound comes on, the fan will slowly spool up in speed, matched to the sound until it reaches full speed (there is an adjustment to set the maximum fan speed) and stay there until the sound shuts off, at which point it will slowly spool back down to a stop.

Upon Stopping Scenario:

This pairs with our "Ready To Move Scenario". With "Upon Stopping Scenario" enabled, turn on the bell prior to stopping the engine and the engine will go through a series of prototypical actions, including stopping any hazard lights, diming the headlight, and giving the "all clear" single horn hoot, automatically.

New Verbal Lexicon:

We've replaced our old programming read back voice with an updated, more easily understood, voice.

New Quantum CV Manager 3.0.0.0 Released:

In addition to adding support for all of the new files and features listed above, this version contains the following new features:

  • Find CV: Use Keywords to locate a particular CV within your document

  • Compare Documents: Looks at all settings in two documents, shows any differences, and allows you to move settings from in between them without having to manually scan both documents.

  • Added helpful "How To" Buttons to the "Help" menu which bring up a "wizard" to help guide users through building their own horns or bells.

Lastly, we are pleased to announce that after a lengthy delay, ALL Q3, Titan-ET files which were available in HO scale, are also now available for Large Scale large scale prototype sound files  •model train decoders  •Sound Files qsi quantum software ho  scale
